New Tricks series 9, episode 5: Body Of Evidence
last lesson we finished watching the tv crime drama called 'New Tricks'. i thought that it was okay but when you compare it to some of the other crime dramas that are around such as 'Law and Order UK' and 'CSI' you can tell that it was made using a much smaller budget due to the fact that there isnt very many special effects and not much action or fight scenes, which you would expect to see in most crime drama tv series. However it has a good storyline because the detective initially thought that a murder had occured when really he had just died from a brain hemerage but with lots of twists the detectives discovered that the man that had died was infact having an internet affair with one of the worlds most prestigious internet hackers around, but the man that had died was actually trying to get the internet hacker in trouble and arrested, and in the end that infact did happen.
This episode atleast has used alot of the common strategies that are normally used in crime dramas such as:
- bodies
- a morgue
- police
- evidence and technical police language
- people walking along and another person joining in out of no where
- a chase scene
- an interrigation (good cop/bad cop)
- confusion
- frustration
Overall i think that the show is okay but if i had the choice i would rather watch a different crime drama.
